Hawaiian Restaurants in Texas

Where to find Hawaiian food in Texas. Includes information about Hawaiian, Polynesian, Hawaiian-fusion, and island style restaurants, plate lunch cafes, and fast food cafes in the greater Austin, Dallas, Houston, Killeen, and San Antonio Texas areas. See also Hawaiian Culture in Texas.

Aloha Hawaiian BBQ and Sushi Express (Houston area)
This Hawaiian cafe just north of Houston serves laulau, lomi salmon, Spam musubi, kalua pork with cabbage, short ribs, a chicken katsu salad, mahi mahi, loco moco, macaroni salad, and many other Hawaii local style dishes. Located at 9759 FM 1960 Bypass Road West in Humble Texas. For more information call 281-359-8886 or 281-359-8887.

Aloha Kitchen (San Antonio)
Hawaiian food lunch cafe and catering business in San Antonio Texas. Open for lunch and dinner four days a week and on the last Sunday of every month they host a Sunday Jam Luau Dinner Show. Located at 1242 Austin Highway in San Antonio, Texas. For more information call their Aloha Roses and Flowers shop, cafe, and catering service at 210-822-9933.

C&H Hawaiian Grill (Killeen and Ft. Hood)
Plate lunch cafe with two Texas locations in an area about halfway between Waco and Austin Texas. Their menu includes kalua pork with cabbage, chicken katsu, chicken and beef teriyaki, macaroni salad, loco moco, portuguese sausage and eggs, and many other local style Hawaii favorites. They are located at 903 East Rancier Avenue in Killeen, Texas (254-554-7755) and in Building 700012 Clark Road at Fort Hood (254-618-5577)..

Chuy's Hula Hut (Austin)
This restaurant on the banks of Lake Austin is not very Hawaiian, or even very Polynesian, but I am including it here because their twist is serving a Mexican and Polynesian fusion cuisine they call "Mexonesian". Located at 3825 Lake Austin Boulevard in Austin Texas. For more information call 512-476-4852.

Hula Hottie's Cafe and Bakery (Dallas)
When the maker of Hula Hottie's Hot Sauces moved from the Big Island of Hawaii to Texas they opened a cafe, bakery, and hot sauce shop at 244 West Davis Street in Dallas. Their menu features appetizers, sandwiches and salads made using their line of sauces, oils, and salad dressings. Their Saturday brunch menus almost always include a Loco Moco as one of the available entrees and several days a week they serve Spam and brisket musubi plates. For more information call the cafe at 214-943-2233.

Kona Grill (several Texas locations)
This chain of restaurants with several locations in Texas. does not serve Hawaiian food but they do have menu items with island style ingredients and names, for example macadamia nut chicken and Kona's big island meatloaf. I would describe their menu as casual Asian fusion. Located in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Sugarland, Texas.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in Texas (Dallas Area)
This popular Hawaiian food and plate lunch cafe has two locations in Texas, both in the greater Dallas area. They are located at 8404 Preston Road in Plano, Texas (972-712-3888) and at 360 East FM 3040 in Lewisville, Texas (972-459-9420).

Roy's Restaurants in Texas (Austin and Dallas areas)
Roy Yamaguchi is one of Hawaii's most famous chefs and his expensive dinner restaurants specialize in a cuisine he calls Hawaiian fusion. Chef Roy has two locations in Texas, one at 340 East 2nd Street in Austin (512-391-1500) and one in the greater Dallas area at 2840 Dallas Parkway in Plano (972-473-6263).

Trader Vic's Dallas (Dallas)
Expensive Tiki-decor dinner restaurant serving Polynesian-Asian-Western fusion cuisine. Not very Hawaiian or Polynesian but if you feel like spending a lot of money this place will give you a 1960's style, hapa haole, touristy taste of the islands. Most Trader Vic's have a dress code so you'll want to ask about that. Located at 5330 East Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas. For more information call 214-823-0600.
