Haari Boat Festival
Hawaii Okinawan Festival
The Okinawan Festival of Hawaii takes place every year
in Honolulu's Kapiolani Park and it attracts more then
50,000 visitors. Proceeds from the festival
benefit the Hawaii United Okinawa Association's
efforts to preserve and promote the
sharing of Okinawan culture.

Hawaii United Okinawa Association (HUOA)
This organization founded in 1951 serves
as an hub for about 50 member clubs throughout
the state of Hawaii. The Hawaii United Okinawa
Association is a charter member of the United
Japanese Society of Hawaii.

was produced by Hui O Laulima,
the women's auxiliary of the United Okinawan
Association of Hawaii. The first edition
sold more then 10,000 copies and it earned
more then $80,000 for the group's cultural activities.
