Dole Pineapple Water Tower is Now a Crown
For more then 60 years Dole's water tower with a pineapple on top was a landmark in Honolulu. The tower was erected in 1927 and it was disassembled in 1993 because of corrosion problems. Only the crown of the pineapple was saved, and it was moved to the parking lot of the Dole Cannery. The shadow of the old water tower was painted onto the side of one of the cannery buildings.
