About the HTA CPEP Awards
"The PEP program helps to enhance and diversify Hawaii’s tourism product by providing community-based events, experiences and projects for our visitors and residents to enjoy," said Lloyd Unebasami, interim president and chief executive officer of HTA. "The programs that were awarded funding represent the diversity, culture and values of Hawai‘i, while providing the 'so much more Hawaii' experience for repeat guests to our islands." CPEP was created in 2002 as a partnership between HTA and the counties. Through the program, the four counties receive HTA funding for tourism product enrichment activities on their respective islands to support projects in the niche areas of agritourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, edutourism, health & wellness tourism, and technotourism.
