European Hula Festival

The 4th annual European Hula Festival took place July 7-9,
2006 in Zeulrenoda, Germany. The event included hula competitions,
performances, and workshops for children and adults.
The 3rd annual European Hula Festival took place July 13-15, 2007
in Zeulenroda, Germany. The event featured three days of
traditional and modern hula performances, a dance competition,
workshops, vendor booths, and food booths. The dance competition
included dances from Hawaii, Tonga, Tokelau, Tahiti, Fiji,
the Cook Islands, Samoa, and the Wallis and Futuna Islands.
Two Tahitian Tattoo artists living in France were kept busy
all day. I'm not sure what the dates were of the 2007 European Hula Festival
but there was an event July 4-6, 2008 that did not include a
contest. The organizers and the participants decided to have
the competition only every two years.
Aloha Pacific Festival of Berlin
The 2008 Aloha Pacific Festival took place
August 29-30, 2008. The event featured hula
workshops with Lenitua,
Dr. Iona of the Cook Islands,
and Sonja Haydn of Munich. On the second
day of the festival there was an evening
performance.
