History of Honolulu's Chinatown

Chinatown Honolulu
The Chinatown district of Honolulu is located next to the city's business district, between Nuuanu Avenue and the Nuuanu Stream. In recent years the Chinatown area has become an important center for the arts in Honolulu.

Chinese Organizations in Hawaii

Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii
Official Web site of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. The organization's largest annual event is the Narcissus Festival, founded 1950 to perpetuate Chinese culture and stimulate business in Honolulu's Chinatown. The event is held every year, just before the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations begin. The chamber also conducts a weekly tour of Chinatown every Tuesday morning.

United Chinese Society of Hawaii
An umbrella organization representing more then 100 Chinese societies, clubs, and organizations in Hawaii. In addition to their other activities they provides free immigration services to the general community.

Hawaii Foundation for Chinese Culture and Arts
Located at 1561 Kanunu Street in Honolulu.

Chinatown Merchants Association
A group of volunteers dedicated to passing Chinese culture and heritage on to the next generation by organizing events such as the Honolulu Night in Chinatown Festival and Parade, annual Dragon Boat Races in Ala Moana Park, and other events.
